    Description

P.J. O'Hare Springfield 1903 National Match rear sight adjusting vernier. Early, pre-WW1 English manufactured vernier that pre dates the start of the Newark, N.J. production. Early taper shank thimble and serrated adjuster knob. Base, slide and thimble are matching numbered with the low number of "6".  This very low serial number marked vernier was purchased by the U.S. Army for issue to the U.S. Army National Match Rifle Team that competed at State, Regional and National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio and marked with the very low inventory number of "U.S.15", accordingly.  Exceptional condition with obvious care and respect for the precision instrument that is. This vernier comes from the shooting accessories of Mr. Eugene B. Mechling of Scarsdale, N.Y. who was a member of the New York Civilian Rifle Team in 1937. Honestly, the best P.J. O'Hare 1903 vernier sight tool I've seen in 40 years of collecting. Low opening bid and USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping of . No International sales.
